President Tre Nelson reported he met with leadership and the Alumni Board of Directors Oct. 20.

“They had nothing but good things to say about SGA,” he said. “I think that speaks to how well our group as a whole has been doing, and I want to thank everyone for their hard work.”

Advisor Shayne Creppel said a document titled the Webb Resolution is a work in progress.

Sen. Jacob Ellis reported there is currently a shortage of Form B scantrons available in Watson Library. Students can still pick up scantrons in the SGA Office on the first floor of the Friedman Student Union.

SGA will host Leadership Luncheon Nov. 6 in the Student Union Ballroom from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The event is open to all students and meant to introduce NSU leadership to the student body.

Cops and Cane’s will be held Nov. 9 at noon in the Stroud Room of the Athletic Fieldhouse; this is an SGA-member-only event.

The Senate voted on and passed the revised SGA Budget. Treasurer Aly Jacobs said the total budget adds to $122,217. The amount SGA is able to spend out of that budget is $97,774; the rest of the amount is held in the reserve and miscellaneous accounts.

Athletic Budget Committee appointments were approved. Members appointed were Tre Nelson, Aly Jacobs, Taylor McBroom, Ryan Harman and Erin Gentry.

Sen. Ty Wright announced Mental Health Awareness Month is in March. SGA is planning a Mental Health Awareness Week and asked that senators contribute ideas for events.

Phi Mu will host its Bayou Bash on Nov. 16 featuring Louisiana-themed food and live music, including a gumbo cook-off. Tickets are $10 each.

Interfraternity Council President Thomas Celles said IFC has a Philanthropy Week planned for Nov. 6-12; all proceeds will benefit the Central Louisiana Homeless Coalition.
